Mark separated from the Queensland Police Service (QPS) in 2013, at the rank of Inspector, to work as an advisor to Police in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He is currently a consultant specialising in probity and anti-corruption strategies as well as being a sessional academic with the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Griffith University.
In the QPS, Mark was responsible for various portfolios that brought him in contact with disadvantaged children and young people, both in operational and corporate capacities. He was able to use this knowledge to develop strategies to assist in reducing violence among youth, particularly those living in Indigenous communities. As a BYS Board member, Mark hopes that he can continue to contribute to improving the lives of youth needing BYS support.
