In response to the Brisbane Youth Service’s ‘A Home for Christmas Appeal’, BYS raised $29,640 for young people through 97 donations.
Thank you to our incredibly generous donors for choosing to support homeless and at-risk youth at what can be a very challenging and lonely time.
We smashed our $20,000 target and thanks to our donors, at least 20 more young people now have a place to call home!
Almost half of the young people we meet are sleeping rough on the streets, couch surfing or moving from place to place. This reduces to less than 10% once they are able to access basic support, which includes purchasing essential household items (such as bedding, furnishings, and basic appliances) to achieve their dream of setting up a home for a stable future.
