The awards are peer nominated, manager endorsed and the BYS Executive Management Team decide the winners.
Meet the first recipients of a BYS Values in Action award – Annie and Kyara.
Annie had been with BYS for only 4 months in the position of Finance Coordinator when she was awarded BYS’s first Values in Action award. Annie received three separate nominations for Accountability, specifically for driving improvements in the accounting processes that have increased efficiencies and made our finance processes more user friendly for our staff and board members.
Kyara received BYS’s first Values in Action Award for her Accountability and Resilience in her role of Hub Intake and Intervention worker at BYS’s Hub. Kyara’s high level of professionalism, responsiveness to client needs, strong professional practice and outstanding record keeping consistently stands out.
Both Annie and Kyara were nominated by at least two different colleagues as deserving of recognition for the way they demonstrate BYS values at work.
Values in Action Reward and Recognition Program is just one part of the broader BYS Employee Value Proposition (EVP) project that was formalised this year following our Innovation Challenge. The EVP project included staff surveys and focus groups to understand what is important to BYS staff about our organisation, and how to attract and retain great people to work for us.
