What do you do here at Brisbane Youth Service?

I’m lucky enough to be the Clinic’s Registered Nurse

 

The best part of your job?

Young people face many challenges and are often raising themselves, being part of a compassionate team helping them transition to adulthood is an honour.

 

How does the work you do assist vulnerable young people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage?

Our clinic offers support for young people to access personalised healthcare and other services they may need to meet their needs.

 

What’s the one thing everyone should know about young people and homelessness?

People often forget that young people may not have been taught the basic life skills that most of us take for granted. Anyone can help them grow and learn.

 

What’s the best part of working with young people?

My job provides me with a sense of purpose, and I learn new things every day.

 

What are some of the main reasons young people seek support?

Navigating support services and healthcare can be difficult. Young people may not have the experience or confidence to do this alone.
