In 2022, Ratna moved into the role of Quality and Practice Development Manager, where she can incorporate her practice experience into improving and enhancing systems and methods of practice. Ratna is keen to work together with staff and young people to ensure their feedback is heard and incorporated in all aspects of practice and policies at BYS. Ratna is also passionate about building staff’s capacity – through critical reflection – how cultural safety can be embedded in practice and work together on decolonising social work.
Ratna graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work (Hons) in 2019 and was employed by BYS following her final placement at BYS. Prior to starting at BYS, she has worked in Intensive Family Support and Disability support since 2010.
At BYS, Ratna started as a Project Coordinator for the Couch Surfing Hotline, then moved to the position of Senior Practitioner for the Safe and Connected Futures Program.
