The season of giving has almost drawn to a close, but Brisbane’s generosity has brimmed over in the lead up to Christmas. Brisbane Youth Service was happily overwhelmed with donations of hampers, cash donations and gift cards to help make the festive season bigger and brighter for the city’s vulnerable young people and their children. BYS received more than $16,000 in cash donations towards our Christmas Appeal and $500 worth of gift cards and over 300 pre-packed Christmas hampers!
Community support for BYS’s annual Christmas Hamper Drive and Christmas Appeal came from far and wide and we would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to all the corporate organisations, workplace teams, businesses and kind-hearted individuals who donated—however big or small.

BYS CEO Annemaree Callander said she was humbled by the generosity of the community and grateful for the large number of donations received.
“For many of us the holiday season is a time of joy and celebration but if times are tough it can be a sad and lonely time. These donations help make Christmas a bit more special for so many young people and their children,” Ms Callander said.
