Tracey Woodward | Brisbane Youth Service

With extensive experience in the youth homelessness sector, Tracey is dedicated to building a society where everyone is safe, housed, and connected. Her career spans direct service delivery, program and team management, youth engagement and community development. She is a passionate Youth Worker and Counsellor who believes housing is a basic human right and that homelessness is a solvable issue in an affluent country like Australia.

In her role as The Nest Manager at Brisbane Youth Service, Tracey leads a 24/7 supported accommodation program for young people aged 16–25. She manages a team providing specialised support to help young people build life skills, address health challenges, and access pathways to education, employment and safe, stable, long term and affordable housing.

A proud Central Queensland First Nations descendant, Tracey advocates for First Nations people’s rights, including access to appropriate housing, cultural revitalisation, self-determination and to live in freedom, peace, safety and security. She approaches her work with the belief that a just society is defined by how it treats its most vulnerable.
