Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month

May 02, 2017

Each May, Queensland marks Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month to raise community awareness of domestic and family violence and to send a clear message that violence of this sort will not be tolerated.

This year’s theme is ‘Not Now, Not Ever’.

BYS will be posting  images on Facebook throughout May.   These images depict young people’s experiences of domestic and family violence.

Centre for Young Women ran a photography project funded by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services to highlight young women’s lived experiences of violence.   The featured image was conceived and taken by a young woman for this project.

Visit the Not Now, Not Ever website to see how you can get involved.
