This past month a number of our staff participated in febfast, where the team gave up sugar in the office for the month of February. They also created a yellow brick road in the office to encourage staff to get up from their desks to stretch and get some exercise.
“It was a great team building exercise, we all held each other accountable in the office.”
“Although, it was difficult because we normally celebrate birthdays with cakes, but we moved to cheese or sugar free cakes.”
“Once we got started we appreciated the healthy kick start to the year.” said the HUB Intake and Intervention Manager Erin.
The group smashed the $500 fundraising goal and raised $713, contributing to $584,479 raised around the country to:
- Help connect more disadvantaged young Aussies with even more Youth Workers.
- Help to keep essential services such as safe housing, rehab and youth programs up and running.
- Give young people a way to build a better future for themselves.
Thank you to our staff and their supporters, and to everyone around Queensland who participated in febfast!
Brisbane Youth Service is one of Febfast’s Beneficiary Partners along with a number of other similar organisations around the country.
All of the beneficiary partners work with disadvantaged young people with all the funds raised by Febfast helping cover program costs.
