Local Youth Outreach Team Help Spruce Up Phoenix House

May 03, 2018

Another Brisbane Youth Service (BYS) property has recently received a makeover thanks to a local church group. The inside of our Phoenix House property at Carina is looking a lot fresher after a group of 27 volunteers from GIFTS, Riverlife Baptist Church gave up part of their weekend to do some painting for us. GIFTS stands for ‘Giving In Full To Serve’ and is the name of the church’s Young Adults outreach team.

It had been on our hearts for a while and when we came across Brisbane Youth Service we felt passionate about serving these young people and staff members. It was a privilege to freshen up the house and amazing to meet the young people who would be living there too. We look forward to doing more work with BYS in the future.” – Paula Charlton, GIFTS, Riverlife Baptist Church

Brisbane Youth Service Phoenix House Painting Volunteers

Our friends at Rochele Painting very generously donated all the equipment needed to help get the job done as part of their ‘Painting with Purpose’ community project.

Time volunteered free of charge and in-kind gifts like these mean more of our funds can go directly towards helping young people.

We are continually inspired by the creative ways individuals, organisations, and the greater community choose to assist us—connecting and partnering with us so that together we can do more to ensure our sustainability and to continue creating new futures for young people.
